tws bride: savanna turner

We are so excited to do our first TWS bride blog feature! Savanna was such an amazing bride to work with and we are thrilled to share more from her stunning day!

Your favorite moment/memory from your wedding day: My favorite moment/memory from our wedding day was our “send-in” to our first dance. Instead of doing a “send-off” at the end of the night, we decided to have our big moment after our reception dinner, into our first dance. This was my favorite moment because my nerves were finally calming down and I was able to acknowledge and enjoy our loved ones who joined us in celebrating our love. Our “send-in” felt like a magical sensation that led straight into our first dance. The exhilarating feeling was extraordinary. In that moment, I truly felt like my husband and I were the only two people there. We met and fell in love on a dance floor. Letting loose and having fun while dancing is where our love feels the most alive.

Describe your bridal style and share your favorite moment/memory from wedding dress shopping at TWS: Going into bridal dress shopping, I was stressing because I wanted multiple bridal styles, but didn’t know how I would achieve it all without buying multiple dresses, which I didn’t want to do. Going into TWS, I connected with Savannah, not only because we shared the same name AND same tattoo, but because of how well she understood the assignment from an indecisive bride-to-be. When she asked about the bridal style I was going for, I gave her a variety of styles that I wanted to achieve in one dress. I wanted something classic, elegant, sexy, fun with tulle, but also sweet.

I explained that I needed a dress that was sexy for my husband, classic and elegant for my ceremony, but fun for me to dance and get low at the reception. I told Savannah that I had my mothers bridal gown cut up and I planned to use her train as a skirt attachment to wear during the ceremony. I wanted multiple looks from one dress. After a few beautiful dresses, I found my simple, classic dress, but still needed those additional styles I endeavored. Savannah brought me a variety of sleeves to try on with my dress and immediately each of my desired styles came to life and were accomplished!

As my family and I were admiring my achieved looks, the ladies of TWS, including the owner, Adrienne, also stopped by to admire and rave about the final looks! I was stuck between wanting two sets of sleeves, but was trying to stay in my budget. Unexpectedly and so kindly, Adrienne raved over the looks we accomplished and wanted me to have all the styles I desired on my wedding day, so she gifted me the second set of sleeves! I know, right? I was astonished and grateful for her extraordinary offer and for making my experience at TWS that much more special.

How did you make your wedding personal to your love story? We made our wedding personal to our love story by choosing a ceremony ritual that did just that. In the early stages of our love story, we were in a long distance relationship. During this time, we would write and send love letters to each other. Throughout our dating years and still to this day, we continue to write each other little love letters with every gift and holiday we celebrate. When looking into ceremony rituals, we knew we wanted one that connected to our love story and felt most like us. When we heard about the Wine Box and Love Letter Ceremony ritual, we immediately knew it was the one. This ceremony ritual included a box containing a bottle of wine and a love letter from each to the other. The letters were to describe the good qualities we find in one another, the reasons we fell in love, and our reasons for choosing to marry.

During the ceremony we put the letters in the box with the wine and locked the box. This created our own little time capsule to be opened on our first wedding anniversary. On our anniversary, we will open the box, read the love letters, pop open the bottle of wine, and celebrate! We plan to keep this going and repeat every year; we will write each other a new love letter, get a new bottle of wine, and put it away until our next anniversary.
